Christmas Painting Workshops Are Coming—Let’s Make Gifts People Actually Keep 🎄✨

The coziest season to paint together is almost here! Our Christmas Painting Workshops roll out all through November and December, and they’re designed to help you slow down, sip something warm, and create handmade gifts that make people say, “Wait…you painted this?!”

Seats are limited and these fill fast—so if you’ve been craving creative time (or you need a fun excuse to gather your favorite people), this is your sign.

What we’re painting this season

Expect a festive mix of beginner-friendly and “I’m ready for a little challenge” projects, including:

  • Christmas Lighthouse

  • Cozy Snowy Owl on Books (library night!)

  • Sheep with a Christmas Wreath

  • Two Doves in the Stable Rafters

  • Classic Christmas Wreath

  • Cats Caroling

  • Peaceful Winter Village at Night

  • And so much more…

We’ll bring tracers, step-by-steps, and all the guidance. You bring your holiday spirit. 🎁

Let’s talk handmade gifts (AKA memory-makers)

Paint nights are the perfect “two birds, one brushstroke” situation: you get a relaxing evening and you leave with a gift ready to wrap.

  • Canvas for the in-laws? Check.

  • A little 8×10 for your bestie’s reading nook? Check.

  • Ornament minis for teacher gifts? Check.

Want to make a matching set? Come twice and coordinate your color palettes—instant gallery wall!

A few questions for you (tell me in the comments or message me!)

  • Who’s the first person on your gift list you’d love to surprise with a hand-painted piece?

  • Are you Team Traditional (pine, berries, classic red/green) or Team Cozy Neutrals (sage, champagne, charcoal)?

  • Which subject are you craving: lighthouse glow, vintage truck, woodland animals, or winter village?

10 quick painting tips for Christmas projects

  1. Limit your palette. Pick 3–4 main colors + white. Harmonious palettes make gifts feel “set-worthy.”

  2. Underpaint for glow. A thin burnt sienna or soft magenta wash under reds and golds makes lights feel warmer.

  3. Make snow believable. Splatter diluted white with a stiff brush or toothbrush at the end—vary droplet sizes for depth.

  4. Use tracing smartly. Transfer main shapes (truck outline, wreath circle) so you can focus on brushwork, not drawing.

  5. Dry-brush magic. For fur, wood-grain, and frosty edges, wipe most paint off your brush and skim the surface lightly.

  6. Palette knife = instant texture. Great for waves, tree bark, rooflines, and wreath greenery—chunky = charming.

  7. Metallic accents last. Add tiny touches of gold on stars, ornaments, or windowpanes at the very end so they stay bright.

  8. Edge control. Clean edges around focal points (the lighthouse light, a dove’s beak) with a slightly damp detail brush.

  9. Soften backgrounds. A quick glaze (a little paint + lots of medium) pushes distant trees back and makes your subject pop.

  10. Gift-ready finish. Let paintings cure 24 hours, then add a thin gloss varnish. Sign small in a corner and date the back.

Make it personal (fast ideas for gifting)

  • Add a name or date to a mailbox, license plate, or ornament.

  • Coordinated sets: a 9×12 lighthouse + two 4×4 ornament canvases.

  • Frame hack: pop an 8×10 canvas panel into a standard photo frame—instant polish.

  • Wrap it cute: Kraft paper, twine, and a paint-splattered gift tag using leftover colors.

How workshops work

  • All materials provided. You just show up.

  • Beginner-friendly. Tracers and step-by-steps keep it stress-free.

  • Come solo or bring a friend. It’s a perfect night out for work teams, book clubs, and families.

  • Private parties available. Ask about booking a custom holiday paint night for your group.

Ready to save your seat?

Our November–December dates go live shortly—grab your spot early so you don’t miss your favorite design. If you’d like first dibs on seats (and occasional bonus freebies), join the email list and keep an eye on the Events page.

P.S. What color palette are you leaning toward this year—Berry & Evergreen, Icy Blues, or Candlelight Neutrals? Drop your pick and who you’re gifting to—I’ll suggest a project + palette combo to match. Let’s make something beautiful (and giftable!) together.
